‘Exit Polls Released From BJP Office’: CM Mamata Rejects Survey Predictions, Claims To Win 226 Seats
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee strongly dismissed the recent exit poll predictions on Thursday, alleging that they were manipulated to benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She expressed confidence that her party, the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), will return to power once the official results are announced on May 4.
In a video statement released after the exit polls, Banerjee made it clear that her party would remain vigilant during the counting process and would not tolerate any form of malpractice. She outright rejected the projections shown by various media outlets, claiming they were deliberately fabricated to weaken the morale of TMC supporters.

According to her, the exit poll figures were circulated from BJP sources earlier in the day and later broadcast on television. She further alleged that money was used to influence their dissemination, stating she had credible information supporting these claims.
Despite the projections, Banerjee made a strong assertion that TMC would secure a decisive victory. She predicted her party would win more than 226 seats in the 294-member West Bengal Assembly, adding that the tally could even exceed 230 seats due to strong public support.
The Chief Minister also raised concerns about security developments in her constituency, Bhabanipur, alleging that raids were conducted overnight. She indicated that she is prepared to personally oversee the safety of electronic voting machines (EVMs) if necessary.
Additionally, Banerjee accused central security forces of acting in favor of the BJP throughout the election process. She directed criticism at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, claiming that the forces were operating under his instructions and not maintaining neutrality.
